NRI Quota Admission Process for NRI Students

The NRI quota is the special reservation for NRI, OCI, and PIO students to different universities of India. In this quota, engineering and medical, law, and management programs are also included in both government and private institutions.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criterion is that at least one of the parents should be an NRI. Students must have academic eligibility, usually 60% or above in Class 12 with relevant subjects. Some universities offer direct admissions, while medical aspirants need to qualify through NEET, and for engineering students, JEE or SAT scores may be required. Fees under this quota are significantly higher and often payable in USD or foreign currency.
